Old Students of the St. Theresa’s Catholic girls school in Dunkwa-On-Offin, on Monday, July 29, 2020 donated Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) and educational materials to their Alma mater.
The items donated included 10 Veronica buckets ,2 boxes of Mathematical Set , 4 boxes of pen, 4 packets of eraser, 3 packs of tissue paper, 50 hand washing soaps and 104 hand sanitizers.
The 1977 and 1978 year groups spearheaded the donations.
Speaking at a short presentation ceremony, Mrs. Paulina Boadi, Chairperson of the 1978 year group said the presentation was to help ensure the pupils adhere to the safety protocols laid down by the Government and health officials to help curb the Covid-19 pandemic and also help cushion the final year students as they prepare for their finally examinations.
“We have gone far in life because we had good training and upbringing from the school ,so this is our widow’s mite to support our old school in this pandemic era,” she said.
The headmaster of the school, Mr. Charles Westcott, who received the items on behalf of the school, expressed the school’s appreciation for the kind gesture.
He gave the assurance that the Primary and Junior High School pupils and staff will put the items to good use .
The headmistress of Boa-Amponsem SHS, an old girl of the school also took the opportunity to advise the final year students.
“I will advise you all to learn hard, pass and become prominent personalities in future. Moreover, you have to keep faith in God as well”, she ended.
