Perseus Mining Ghana Limited Ghana Limited on Tuesday,14th November presented items worth GHC 265,000 to communities in its operational area in the Wassa and Denkyira enclave.
This was done through the Edikan Trust Fund. A fund that seeks to improve the welfare of communities under their jurisdiction.
The annual donation was done according to each community priority project like the building of schools, water project, chip compound, Quarters, etc.
The large-scale mining company supported the beneficiary communities with 1357 Bags of cement,172 pieces of Iron Rods,50 Boxes of Tiles,5 Coils of Binding wire,16 Packets of Aluzinc roofing Sheets,3 Submersible Pumps and 2 Coils of 3/4 PE Pipes.
The Social and Community Development superintendent, Mr. Emmanuel Danso, said the donation was the company’s corporate social responsibility to attend to the pressing needs of the communities to better the lives of the people. He added that Perseus Mining is ready to do more as part of its priority to help improve the standard of living in the exploration communities.
Receiving the items, Nana Oppong Adu, Chief of Wasa Powuakor thanked the company for timely assistance for the construction of a KG block.
The 25 communities that benefited are Pewuako, Bibianiha, Agyaakuso, Dompoase, Charleskrom, Kwekuti-Krom, Jonjoso, Ntwentwena, Hintaado, Akoreso Epom Kokofu in the Wassa tradition area.
Nkotumso, Breman, Brofoyedur, Oda, Besease, Anwiawia, Abora, Treposo, Kakyere-Nyansa, Ananekrom, Nkroful, Adaboi, Achiase and Dominase also in the Denkyira tradition area.
