Russia Will forgive $23 billion of debts owed by African countries— Vladimir Putin
In order to encourage sports and amusement among the local youth, Dr. Muhammadu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana, has commissioned and handed over an ultramodern Astro Turf to the residents of Dominase and Agona in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central region.
The facility contains floodlights that enable nighttime play, giving local football talent the chance to hone their skills on a traditional playing surface in order to reach their full potential.
Dr. Bawumia stated the facility fulfils President Akufo-Addo’s pledge to build a platform to support discovering and nurturing young people’s hidden ability while speaking at the facility’s commissioning event.
He also thanked Mr. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Minister of Transportation, for his efforts and support in building this structure.
He then pleaded with the residents of Upper Denkyira West to maintain the infrastructure.
Robert Otieku Duncan, chairman of the Central Regional Football Association (CRFA), pleaded with team fans to refrain from attacking referees on the play.
He stated that it is regrettable and needs to cease when officials are attacked by fans after football games.
It would be inappropriate for anyone to assault them, he continued, because there are reform procedures for referees who misbehave themselves to be penalised.
The facilities, according to Edward Amankuna the GFA district chairman for Upper Denkyira West, would encourage local youth to socialise and have fun.
The park will serve as a forum for developing local athletes, enhancing sports inclusiveness, and identifying and developing potential.
