Newly Weds Die In Tragic Road Accident Week After Their Wonderful Wedding
The Chiefs and residents of Denkyira Atobiase, a largely agricultural town in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the central region, have urged the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to repair the power transformer that caught fire more than a year ago.
The entire neighborhood was affected, putting everyone in total darkness and preventing them from using their electrical appliances. The lack of a reliable power source also had an effect on the operations of local businesses.
In an interview with Mohammed Radiu Dinn Rasko, Dunkwatv.com, Unit Committee Secretary for Denkyira Atobiase, Thomas Oppong, who spoke on behalf of Nananom, said that many appeals to the Upper Denkyira Municipal and the Regional Office of the corporation were futile.
As a result of the circumstance, he further said that teachers, nurses, and other government staff are refusing to accept postings.
He added that as a result of the situation, the nurses must send their medications to the nearby town for preservation.
He encouraged the Ministry of Energy to replace the transformer right away in order to shield them from any potential threat.
Meanwhile, some of the residents asserted that the lack of electricity had a negative impact on their security, healthcare, local businesses, and education.
They assert that as they are presently concerned, overburdened, and unable to handle the situation, their long-standing electricity problem needs to be resolved immediately.
