Perseus Mining Ghana Limited has inaugurated a $508,000 market complex and a lorry park terminal at Denkyira Ayanfuri in the Upper Denkyira West District.
The project will provide comfort for transport operators, Market women, and travelers .
It was undertaken by the Perseus Mining Ghana Limited with support from the Upper Denkyira West District Assembly.

Mr. Richmond Koduah, the District Chief Executive (DCE)
There is adequate space for the Market Women, drivers, and traders, operating at the terminal.
The assembly is planning to build lockable stores and additional stores to accommodate more traders.
I applauded the contractors for completing the job and the quality of the job done.
Dr. Stephen Ndede (General Manager PMGL)
I would want to use this special occasion to say a big thank you to the Chiefs and people of the Ayanfuri Community for their unflinching support towards PMGLC’s operations over the years. We have collectively worked together with the District Assembly to implement this project primarily because of the peaceful environment we have established.
Nananom, through the Edikan Trust Fund which is the main driver of PMGL’s Corporate Social Responsibility, projects such as a Health Centre with Nurses’ quarters, 6-Unit Classroom blocks with ancillary facilities, Community Centres, ICT Centres, Provision of bursaries to students in tertiary institutions, etc. have been provided to our Catchment Communities.
To date, PMGL has contributed close to GHS 15 million to fund development projects in the Catchment and Exploration Communities from annual contributions of $300,000.00 into the Trust Fund.
Perseus is pleased to have associated itself with today’s gathering as we commission this Market and Lorry Station. The facility comprises of 3 Lorry Terminals, 6 market stalls, a place of convenience, and a fence wail to provide security. It is worth mentioning that a total of $508,000 has been spent on the project being commissioned today.
Mr. Aseidu Agyemang, Former DCE of Upper Denkyira West
I am pleased to be here this day. My advice to traders and drivers is for them to adhere to Assembly directives and move back to the terminal to enhance its effectiveness.
Traders and hawkers must avoid trading outside the market, and rather use the facility for its purpose, and help the Assembly in its revenue collection.
I will however ask PMGL to continue to do more for the people in Upper Denkyira East.
Lawyer Daniel Ohene Darko ( MP Upper Denkyira West)
A big thank you to Perseus Mining Ghana Limited for their support towards the development of the Upper Denkyira West District.
Ehunabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI ( Board Chairman PMGL)
Perseus Mining Ghana Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and through the efforts of the District Assembly has undertaken this all-important project.
The Mine has always delivered on its promises to the people.

Background
The assembly started the project with a contractor called Stone Wall Company Ltd, after the initial clearing, filling, and compacting of the area which was notoriously marshy and costing the assembly about 700,000ghc then the PMGL wrote to the assembly that they have an old pit closed to the place and that they want to use the pit for their underground mining so the assembly should stop the work since the blasting and debris will cause damage to the project as well as life & property.
The assembly obliged with the assurance that after their mining in the pit, they(PMGL) will construct the market and lorry park and other two projects.

The ceremony was graced with the presence of the Ayanfuri Chief and Elders, the District Chief Executive, Assembly members, PMGL MD/CEO and Workers of PMGL, Staff of the District Assembly, Drivers Union, Market women, and some Community Members.
