Nana Ama Ayensuaa Saara III, Denkyirahemaa on Saturday, 24th September warned chiefs not to sell school lands to property developers.
She said some chiefs had become so corrupt that they were selling these lands, for their own parochial interest instead of the good of the people for whom they hold the land in trust.
Denkyirahemaa was addressing a Durbar at the 60th anniversary celebrations of Boa-Amponsem Senior High School in Dunkwa-On-Offin.
She said the practice of selling land by chiefs “has become so rampant that having sold all available free land, chiefs now shamelessly resort to nibbling at school lands”.
“It’s unfortunate chiefs have sort to the selling of the lands which was given to develop the school by the late Odeefuo. Chiefs should from today stop this disgraceful act.”
“Another warning goes to people who bought those illegal school lands, we will be evacuating you from the land.”
The Denkyirahemaa also blast the Municipal Assembly to desist from granting permits to Chiefs selling school lands.
She urged those in the habit of selling the lands to stop their nefarious and anti-social activities and rather help to demarcate and preserve such school lands for posterity.
