Hours of heavy rain on Friday left parts of Jukwa in the Twifo Hemaa Lower Denkyira District in the Central Region flooded.
The downpour flooded some areas as a mini bridge collapse after river Asorowe Amoako Atta overflowed it banks.
The flood washout the bridge approaches at Jukwa and has rendered the Cape Coast – Twifo Praso road inaccessible
The drains could not carry huge volumes of water from the Domeapra forest
“The Ghana Highway Authority kindly wishes to bring to the notice of the general public that a washout of bridge approaches at Jukwa has rendered the Cape Coast – Twifo Praso road inaccessible. The road has been cut off by the rains at Jukwa bridge.
Motorists travelling between Cape Coast and Twifo Praso are therefore advised to use Cape Coast – Yamoransa – Assin Fosu – Twifo Praso road as the Authority mobilizes to solve the problem as soon as possible. We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience caused, ” a statement from Ghana Highway Authority said.

The affected areas included Eximbank CEO’s House Lawrence Agyinsam , Some houses at Jukwa Zongo and others .
The floods destroyed property worth thousands of cedis and displaced some from their homes, and they had to stay with their friends and other relatives to keep safe.
