The Produce Buying Company Limited (PBC) of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) honoured 30 best cocoa farmers and 36 best marketing clerks in the Western South Region, Enchi for working hard to increase productivity.
They received Tricycle (Aboboya),Motor bikes, television sets, refrigerators, matchets, mechanized sprayers, pair of Wellington boots,cloth, T-shirt and many others. the awards ceremony held at Enchi in the Aowin Municipality of the Western North region.
Speaking in an interview with Mohammed Radiu Dinn Rasko Dunkwa tv, the Regional Manager of Produce Buying Company Limited (PBC) Western South Region Enchi Mr. Samuel Kussi-Appiah said, they do this to motivate the Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Clerks because they are the foundation of the PBC Limited.
He then congratulated the awards winners on their hard work and urged them to continue to work hard for the PBC Limited to achieve his aim.
Mr. Tannor Aikins Gorden a Marketing Clerk who bought more than 5000 bags of cocoa to PBC Limited 2020/2021 season,was adjudged the Western South Enchi, Regional best marketing clerk.
He received a tricycle and a certificate of honor.
Mr. Tannor Aikins Gorden on behalf of Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Clerks thanks PBC Limited for the kind of gesture and urged the PBC Limited authorities to fix their deplorable roads which links to their various societies, increase their salaries and insured them for better future.
The Chief Executive Officer of PBC Limited Richard Akuoku Adiyia says, the Awards is to encourage Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Clerks to continue work hard for PBC Limited.
He then, urged cocoa Farmers to continue work with PBC Limited and stop selling their cocoa to Foreigners.
Meanwhile, The deputy CEO of Finance and Administration PBC Mrs. Boadi Apenteng Vivian, call for young people to venture into agriculture stating, it is lucrative.
She urged the youth coming into agriculture. Looking at things,it looks like farming is being left to only aged or people who have retired.
She then, invite young people to venture into farming because is very profitable.
She finally advised Farmers not to sell their farmland to galamsayers.
